Ministries
Amphitheater Ministry This ministry sets up events in our River of LIfe Amphitheater. We have had Southern Gospel, Worship and Christian rock concerts. This ministry also provides opportunity to work at concerts/events at the amphitheater. Audio/Visual Services Ministry This ministry takes care of the sound and visual needs during the three Sunday worship services, choir practice on Wednesday evenings and during special productions. Also, as the need arises this ministry provides video taping services for different events or for use in the worship services.If you're interested in this area of service we'd love to have you on our team - even if you aren't available to help during every service! Bereavement Ministry We provide meals for the funeral needs of our church members and their immediate family. Bus Ministry The Bus Ministry is a group of people who volunteer their time to drive a church van or bus around the community on Sundays and Wednesdays to pick up youth and children who otherwise would not be able to come to church. Right now we have a real need for "bus captains" (someone who can help watch the kids and maintain order) so if you are available to take a Wednesday or Sunday rotation, we would love to have you join the team! Deacon Ministry Partners in Ministry and Growth Our deacon ministry seeks to follow the biblical example established by the early disciples as Spirit-filled men were chosen and set aside to be servant partners with the pastors. Deacons assist the pastors and staff in all areas of ministry, service, support, and leadership to the family of God, with particular emphasis on ministry to the widows of our church. Decorating Ministry Our ministry takes care of the decorations for the various special celebrations we have throughout the year, such as the birthday and anniversary celebrations for our pastoral staff and also the different church-wide banquets we have such as Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner, Operation Andrew Banquet, etc. Our services are needed about once a month and we always do our decorating after the 11 o' clock service on the Sunday of the event, so if you enjoy decorating and usually have Sunday afternoons free, we'd love to have you join us! Flower Ministry This ministry provides the flower arrangements for the sanctuary and various other areas of the church as well as any flower needs for funerals, new births, etc. Music Ministry The music ministry consists of the following teams:
Park Ministry The Park Ministry is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the park area behind the church where we have our outdoor worship services and activities. This also includes the River of Life Amphitheater. Parking Ministry The parking ministry takes away from the headache of parking problems during one of our "special event" services. They give of their time just to make sure that everyone finds a spot and that those with special needs have easier access to our church. Prayer Ministry Our Prayer Ministry is a collection of several ministries of intercession that include the Telephone Prayer Chain, Email Prayer grams, Pastor's Prayer Partners and Prayer Warriors. Recreation Ministry This ministry helps to organize and support different events for our members to participate in such as softball, golf, trap shooting, games during our get-togethers, etc. So if you would be interested in helping out with one or more of these items, please contact the church, we'd love to have you on board! Scarlet Thread Sewing Ministry The goal of this ministry is to share God's Word through fellowship while teaching different sewing techniques for beginners as well as the more advanced. The Scarlet Thread Sewing Ministry has done many fun projects such as making felt Christmas stockings, decorating sweatshirts with appliqué, making crazy quilt blocks as well as many other quilting projects, etc., etc. Keep your eye on the Coming Events page for upcoming Scarlet Thread opportunities! Senior Adult Ministry We are committed to providing our senior adults with opportunities for fellowship and also to provide ways to grow and serve the Lord. Among other things, we have monthly luncheons and organize regular group outings. Shower Ministry There is no greater miracle than the birth of a child. The wonderful women of CBC know this so they go out of their way to show love to the expectant mothers by providing them with a baby shower. The Shower Ministry provides wedding showers as well. Social Ministry This ministry takes care of all of the food needs for birthday and anniversary celebrations as well as some of the smaller banquets. We also organize the annual Buddy Crocker contest where our male church members get to show off their culinary skills. If you enjoy cooking or baking, you're more than welcome to join our team! Special Events Ministry This ministry is responsible for planning and conducting the major church-wide events. Duties include the meal planning and food preparation for large scale events such as the Loyalty Banquet, the Homecoming celebration, etc. So if you enjoy cooking, this is the ministry for you! Usher Ministry The members of the Usher Ministry team assist the pastor during worship services in numerous ways, such as greeting guests and helping with any needs that may arise.
